Truth

There was truth and there was untruth, and if you clung to the truth even against the whole world, you were not mad.

Reality is to Be Feared

| Remember this when you hear liberals screaming and yelling about “fat Cat” CEO’s and their bonuses and how evil they are:
DETROIT – New General Motors Co. CEO Daniel Akerson will get the same $9 million pay package as the man he replaced, Ed Whitacre.
The automaker, which is 60.8 percent owned by the U.S. government, disclosed the pay package in a filing on Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission. It is identical to what the company disclosed for Whitacre in February.
So don’t do as they do, do as they say and hate the “the rich” because they are evil incarnate. :)
Contrary to press reports that he would not be compensated, uncovered Treasury Department documents reveal President Obama’s pay czar, Kenneth Feinberg, received a $120,830 annual salary.(WT)

WASHINGTON — The Homeland Security Department plans to test futuristic iris scan technology that stores digital images of people’s eyes in a database and is considered a quicker alternative to fingerprints.
ACLU lawyer Christopher Calabrese fears that the cameras could be used covertly. “If you can identify any individual at a distance and without their knowledge, you literally allow the physical tracking of a person anywhere there’s a camera and access to the Internet,” he said.
Iris scans can be quicker than fingerprints. “You can walk up to a wall-mounted box, look at the camera, and that’s it,” Grother said.
Homeland Security will test cameras that take photos from 3 or 4 feet away, including one that works on people as they walk by, Vemury said.
If I agree with the American Communist Liberals Union (ACLU) you know the universe is endanger! :)
But don’t worry, Big Brother and Big Sis are not trying to track your every move and know and control everything about you. No, not at all… :)
*******
The number of people in the United States who are living in poverty is on track for a record increase on President Obama’s watch, with the ranks of working-age poor approaching 1960s levels that led to the national war on poverty.
Census figures for 2009 – the recession-ravaged first year of Obama’s presidency – are to be released this week, and demographers expect grim findings.
The expected poverty-rate increase – from 13.2 percent to about 15 percent – would be another blow to Democrats struggling to persuade voters to keep them in power. Midterm congressional elections are only weeks away.(WP)
But don’t worry, this too is also totally Bush’s Fault! :)
He claims that “the policies of the previous decade … that cut taxes, especially for millionaires and billionaires … ultimately culminated in a financial crisis and a terrible recession that we’re still digging out of today.”--President Obama
The president falsified the record. The Democrats’ politicization of mortgages — not Bush’s tax cuts — caused the financial crisis.
But don’t expect the Ministry of Truth to tell you that either.
If the tax cuts are to blame, why did Obama’s just-resigned Council of Economic Advisers Chairwoman Christina Romer — whom Obama on Friday said “helped save this country from a depression” — recently co-author an article in the American Economic Review “contrary to the White House’s plan to reverse the Bush tax cuts,” as columnist Donald Lambro noted? (IBD)

And then there’s former Budget Director Pete Orszag who said the tax cuts should be kept.
So if tax cuts are so evil and wrecked the nation, then why were two of Obama’s biggest Financial Guru’s for them??
Mind you, it was only AFTER they left. :)
President Barack Obama talked a lot about economic recovery during his State of the Union address on Jan. 27, 2010, including the benefits of the economic stimulus bill passed last year.
The stimulus, formally known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, included tax cuts for many Americans, Obama said.
“We cut taxes. We cut taxes for 95 percent of working families. We cut taxes for small businesses,” Obama said. “We cut taxes for first-time homebuyers. We cut taxes for parents trying to care for their children. We cut taxes for 8 million Americans paying for college.”
So when he says he cut taxes (and doesn’t really or does and then raises in other ways-like Obama Care) it’s good. But if someone else proposes it, it’s just cuts for “the rich” and wrecks the country.
Say what??
“We’re going to take the next 50-some days to convince the public that’s exactly what the Republicans would do – back to the Bush policies,” White House Spokesman Gibbs said.

“By far, Jan Brewer has shown herself to be the most unreasonable and racist governor in our country, and her discriminatory policies echo the type of prejudice that took place during the lynchings and brutality suffered by African Americans in the South,” Duarte said. “I have known families who have suffered gravely due to the policies she has so easily signed into law.”– Stella Pope Duarte, Phoenix College.

FEAR IS HOPE
Ad Hominem: attacking the person instead of attacking his argument.
Democrats desperate to convince their base to show up at the polls in November have begun talking less about issues and more about the possibility of a “Tea Party Congress” next year.
The passage of landmark bills such as healthcare and financial regulatory reform has not triggered as much grassroots enthusiasm as initially envisioned, Democratic strategists say. And while the right is engaged this cycle, the left is deflated.

“This is a big problem,” said Democratic targeting and turnout guru Hal Malchow.

So Democrats have turned to a strategy that may be their next best bet: demonization of the “insurgent” Tea Party.
“These are not your run-of-the-mill Republicans we’re talking about here,” said one Democratic organizer working in a state with a contested Senate race this fall. “When you actually start telling voters what these candidates are about, it scares the hell out of them.”
In the past several weeks, when Democratic activists cite the ramifications of a “Tea Party Congress,” they say, more volunteers have signed up to knock on doors to preserve a Democratic-led House and Senate.
President Obama does not fire up the left as much as he did in 2008, and polls indicate independents are turning on him.
A recent Gallup survey shows that Republicans are far more enthusiastic about voting than Democrats, leading by a 50 percent to 25 percent count.
Many liberals have expressed frustration with the White House on issues ranging from the war in Afghanistan to the military prison in Guantanamo Bay — which Obama pledged to close by last January — to the lack of a public option in healthcare reform.
Uniting the party, and making sure their voters don’t stay home this fall, has become the No. 1 issue for the Democratic Party.
“The argument that we’ve made is that the Republican Party has been taken over by the Tea Party,” Democratic National Committee (DNC) spokeswoman Hari Sevugan said. “It not only energizes Democrats, but it’s the fundamental choice that independents and moderates face in the fall, too.”
Some in Democratic circles are unsure whether they can convince voters that this election is a choice instead of a referendum on Obama and the Democratic Congress. Still, there is a consensus that it’s the best game plan they have.
While then-President George W. Bush was an effective bogeyman for Democrats in 2006 and 2008, blaming him now for the nation’s economic woes has not resonated nearly as much.
University of Virginia professor Larry Sabato pointed the finger at “the failure of the Obama economic agenda” for depressing the Democratic base, but is skeptical that shifting away from issues on the campaign trail will solve the party’s turnout dilemma.
“I’m not sure trotting out a bunch of devil figures — the Tea Party congressional nominees, George Bush, [former Alaska Gov.] Sarah Palin, etc., is going to make much difference. Democrats know Obama is in power for at least two more years and can stymie a GOP Congress,” Sabato said. “But in the absence of good news on the economy, it’s worth a try to point out to Democrats who’ll be running things at one end of Pennsylvania Avenue if Democrats don’t show up to vote.”
Many Democrats, including Obama, predicted six months ago that voters would embrace the healthcare reform law when they learned more about it.
But polls show that the public is deeply divided on it. And it’s not moving many people off their couches, according to Democrats at the state and local level.

“Healthcare is largely unpopular in most places,” Malchow said. “That’s why Democrats aren’t talking about it.” (Fifty-three percent (53%) of U.S. voters now say they at least somewhat favor repeal of the new national health care law, matching the lowest level of opposition since the bill was passed by Congress in March. That includes 42% who Strongly Favor repeal.A majority has favored repeal of the legislation every single week since late March, and the bill is playing a major role in a number of congressional races across the country. Support for repeal has ranged from a low of 53%, reached once before in July, to a high of 63%.-Rasmussen)
Financial reform, and other items enacted in the 111th Congress, are likewise not lighting a fire under the Democratic base.
What is working, turnout specialists say, is talking about the “insurgent” Tea Party and how the “rising red” movement could affect the agenda in Washington in 2011.
The success of Tea Party candidates in primaries, especially candidates backed by Palin, has given Democratic operatives a key talking point. These officials have also used the Aug. 28 rally in Washington, D.C., led by Fox News commentator Glenn Beck, as a volunteer recruitment tool.
Malchow said that Tea Party-backed candidates who are further to the right than centrist and independent voters will, in the end, help the Democrats’ cause: “That’s a major motivating factor for Democrats, but I think it also depends on where you are.”
In Nevada, with a Republican nominee for Senate like Sharron Angle, Malchow said, it’s likely to be more of a motivator for Democrats than in a state like Illinois, where the party has nominated a more centrist Senate candidate in Rep. Mark Kirk.
“Base voters understand what’s at stake in this election,” said the DNC’s Sevugan. “The message that’s resonating is, do we continue to move forward or do we allow the Republicans to take us back? A slate of Republican candidates who hold very extreme positions make that choice crystal clear.”
Earlier this summer, Democrats launched an effort to cast the Republican Party and the Tea Party as one and the same.
“You don’t know where the Republican Party ends and the Tea Party begins, and they have to own that,” Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) said in July.
In an interview on MSNBC late last month, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) said he expects voters to wake up to what Tea Party-backed candidates are actually running on before November.
“I think we’ve got some folk — Tea Party folk, Republicans — who are out of sync with the average American. And most Americans are in the middle,” said Cummings.
That’s a much sharper tone than Democrats were employing six months ago. In late February, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) went so far as to say that she and Tea Partiers share some of the same views. Since then, however, Democrats have identified the Tea Party as their clear adversary.
For example, Vice President Joe Biden lashed out at the “Republican Tea Party” a couple of weeks ago, predicting Democrats will retain control of both houses of Congress.
“It’s a race between Democrats and the Republican Tea Party,” Biden said.(The Hill)
Washington is today a human and systemic failure that is destroying us from within. Its profligate spending is undermining the dollar — and, according to the International Monetary Fund, it is risking a U.S. sovereign debt crisis. According to Lenin, “There is no subtler, no surer means of overturning the existing basis of society than debauching the currency.”
The eminent Samuel Huntington observed that Washington is — through the Third World orientation of its immigration policies — deliberately destroying the linguistic, cultural and creedal glue that defines and holds the nation together. Research by Harvard professor Robert Putnam associates high levels of government-created “diversity” with civic dissonance and decline.
Washington makes tax slaves out of one in four Americans, forcing them to pay nearly all the income tax while others pay little or none. It taxes too heavily in the dumbest way possible that does the maximum economic damage (about $3 for every $1 of tax collected), costing everyone jobs and incomes. Taxation is an economic poison that spreads quickly.
And when government spends a dollar, the economic benefit is typically between zero and 60 cents, thereby digging the hole still deeper with a loss on each transaction. No wonder “stimulus” doesn’t work.
Washington discriminates among us according to race and gender, takes our money and property and gives it to union bosses and other friends on its political Facebook, and by forcing us to fill out millions of government forms, annually confiscates 10 billion hours of our time.
It invades our schools, raises costs, messes with students’ minds and morals, and lowers educational quality. It scorns and interferes with traditional Americans in the exercise of their religion — and it forces everyone to fight through a jungle of federal regulations just to live our daily lives.
Washington has by fiat reduced the earnings on our savings accounts to near zero and given the differential to banks and speculators. It has taken $2.5 trillion out of our Social Security Trust Fund and “replaced” the money with federal IOUs that it can pay only by imposing additional taxes on us. What a cruel hoax.
A soon-to-be-published analysis of historical data (by Gary and Aldona Robbins) shows how government ineptitude has for decades been increasing the price of health care. ObamaCare is the final atrocity. It will not be tolerated.
Washington constantly intervenes in our free-market economy, cannibalizing vital parts and impairing its ability to provide jobs and raise living standards. Adam Smith’s “invisible hand” of commerce and trade may soon stop altogether. Absent that productive genius, what will we do then? Rely on government? What a hoot. Washington is broke and produces nothing.
The Great Recession tells us that government is better at creating problems (such as deficits, debt, unemployment and the housing bubble) than it is at providing solutions. And President Obama proves daily that profligate spending really is a sin: It kills jobs.
Instead of apologizing to the world for America, Obama should apologize to us. His administration seems unfortunately to have lost both its economic mind and its moral compass. (IBD)

But instead, you get it’s Bush’s Fault, fear the “tea party” as radicals and nutjobs, and spending EVEN MORE money than we have will solve everything! :(
I’ll give Gov. Deval Patrick (MA) the last word: “It’s a free country. I wish it weren’t, but . . . it’s a free country,” Patrick said on the “Jim & Margery Show” on WTKK-FM. “You know, you got to, you got to respect that freedom.”

Moving on

Mexican government officials have moved their satellite consular office from the Catalina Island Country Club to a Catholic Church – citing protection under the Vienna Convention – after it was discovered that they did not have the appropriate paperwork to issue the island’s illegal immigrants identification cards.
Since The Washington Examiner reported that the management of the club, on the island of Catalina, discovered that the event was not a multi-cultural celebration as they had been told and refused to allow the Mexican government to set up shop.
The Mexican officials will provide “matricular” card services to Mexican nationals at St. Catherine’s Church, on the island.
So the Mexican Government lied about what they were going to do and got the boot! And now they have retreated to a Church to seek sanctuary.
Notice, they aren’t doing it on Mexican Consular grounds…They know what they are doing.
But like all socialists and Leftist, they don’t care.
The end justify the means.

After Gov. Brewer hit-and-run meeting the President:
When asked if she thinks the president has read the law, Brewer only smiled. :)

In a written statement, the White House said Obama reiterated his concern over the law and how it could lead to a patchwork of different state immigration regulations that would interfere with the federal government’s response.
WHAT FEDERAL RESPONSE?
To sue us, call us “misquided” and let your cronies calls us Nazis and racists!?
Is that the response you’re referring to!?
“The president urged Gov. Brewer to be his partner in working in a bipartisan manner on comprehensive immigration reform to implement the type of smart, sensible, and effective solutions the American people expect and deserve from their federal government,” the White House said.
“Comprehensive Immigration Reform” all-or-nothing Amnesty, not border security.
Neither side wants anything less.
The Democrats want to pander to Latinos for potential voters.
Republicans want cheap laborers.
And the American People get the shaft in the meantime.
****
Sestak
The official White House position now that they got the Great Perjurer Bill Clinton to fall on the sword for them, but no one is letting up on them is ‘Talk to the hand’.
It’s all in the memo. :(
We have nothing to hide. :)
Obviously the Sestak affair has no intention of going away, but what will make the difference between this turning out to be a bump in the road and a life-threatening wreck is whether Sestak-gate is an isolated instance of Chicago-style political corruption, or part of a visible pattern.
On top of the Sestak offer, the president is now fending off concerns about a similar but possibly more serious case of offering government jobs to yet another maverick Democrat to get him out of a primary race.
Colorado state Rep. Andrew Romanoff said Wednesday that the White House discussed the possibility of three different government jobs that “might be available” if he agreed not to follow through and challenge incumbent Sen. Michael Bennet in Colorado’s Democratic primary. Bennet was appointed senator early last year by Democratic Gov. Bill Ritter to fill the seat vacated by Ken Salazar, Obama’s choice for interior secretary.
An e-mail from deputy White House chief of staff Jim Messina dated Sept. 11, 2009, alluded to two different posts with the U.S. Agency for International Development, as well as director of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency. That latter post ended up being filled by Leocadia Zak, who with her husband contributed more than $10,000 to the Obama campaign.
As if all that weren’t enough, the federal corruption trial of Illinois’ ousted Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich, accused of trying to sell the U.S. Senate seat once held by Obama, will most likely require the testimony of Emanuel.
The only way to get to the bottom of all this is to get those involved under oath, have a dispassionate prosecutor ask them pointed questions and compare the cast of characters’ answers. Attorney General Eric Holder will have to decide whom his ultimate boss is — a president interested in damage control or the American people.
In the meantime, the president has some answering to do, because Sestak-gate and Romanoff-gate won’t go away. He will be asked whether “Change We Can Believe In” was just a well-timed — and ultimately deceptive — slogan.(IBD)
I’m shocked and appalled! :)
Corrupt Chicago Politics!
Never! :)
So what’s next for the Campaigner-in-Chief, a new tour?
Maybe he can vacation in Miami with all those Latinos who will be covered in Oil! :)
President Obama: “I’m in charge of oil spill cleanup”
But he’s a community orginizer, a Chicago political machine thug, an agitator, intimidator, not a Leader.
He forces people to bend to his will, not lead.
And Mother Nature has spoken.
She rained on his Memorial Day Speech.
So I guess it’s time for a new Crisis  so we can pass our 19th Century solutions called Cap & Trade.
After all, never waste a good crisis.
Never Lead, either.

Prevarication Rather than Verification

PERFerring to Pervaricate

June 2, 2010 · Leave a Comment · Edit This

The handful of police chiefs who complained to Attorney General Eric Holder about Arizona’s new immigration law don’t represent law enforcement. They have a liberal agenda.
The media have breathlessly reported how the police brass traveled to Washington to voice their concerns over the law in an hour-long meeting with Holder. Left unreported was that the whole thing was staged by a liberal Washington lobby group called the Police Executive Research Forum, which a month earlier hosted longtime supporter Holder at its annual confab.
PERF’s Web site describes itself as a “progressive” organization “challenging traditional police practices.” Media also failed to note PERF is partnered with the ACLU and has lobbied against even federal enforcement of immigration laws. In fact, PERF favors amnesty for the millions of immigrants living in the U.S. illegally.
The police chiefs who attended the Holder meeting are members of PERF. One of them — Tucson Police Chief Roberto Villasenor — argued that his state’s illegal immigrant crackdown will target “a subset of the community.” Yes, a criminal subset, which is the whole point.
Still, Villasenor insisted, “This is not the focus of local law enforcement. Immigration is the focus of the federal government.”
Unfortunately, the feds aren’t focusing on the problem, forcing besieged border states like Arizona to protect themselves. And long before Arizona’s S.B. 1070 became law, Villasenor’s own county signed an agreement with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to help border agents ID and round up criminal aliens.
Tucson is the seat of Pima County — one of more than 70 law enforcement agencies across the country that ICE has deputized to crack down on illegals under the so-called 287(g) program, which PERF also opposes. Pima signed its agreement in 2008.
Rather than complaining, Villasenor should be grateful. The partnership has helped take dangerous criminals off the streets of Tucson and surrounding areas. Nationwide, it has ID’d and processed for removal more than 110,000 criminal aliens since January 2006.
Villasenor knows how bad the problem is in his state. Tellingly, he argued that the feds will be overwhelmed by the number of referrals once every cop in Arizona is empowered to check the immigration status of people they stop.
Villasenor argues the Arizona law, which takes effect July 29, will only divert resources from fighting crime. But much of Arizona’s recent crime wave involves immigrant-related drug-running, kidnapping, rape and murder. So attacking illegal immigration will at the same time reduce the overall crime rate.
It’s a shame he and other police chiefs would choose political grandstanding over the safety of the citizens they’re sworn to protect. (IBD)

Oh, and Obama found some time in his “busy” schedule to meet with Governor Jan Brewer on Thursday.
The initial response from the White House indicated a visit was not in the cards.
“We remain in regular contact with the governor and her staff,” White House spokesman Adam Abrams told reporters. “While the president’s schedule next week doesn’t allow for a meeting, he does intend to sit down with the governor in the future.”
On Tuesday, the author of Arizona’s immigration law — which Obama has called “misguided” and expressed concerns that it might be applied in a “discriminatory” fashion — criticized the president’s failure to make time to meet with Brewer, calling it “an insult.”
Republican state Sen. Russell Pearce told Fox News that the president is “willing to have a beer fest with an officer in Cambridge after he misspoke. … He misspoke on this bill also and he’s not willing to meet with the governor of the state of Arizona?”
Later on Tuesday the White House announced the president intended to meet with Brewer after all.(ABC)
So he was planning to have a meeting with Hillary and India so will they meet over a curry?
An administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Brewer will meet Obama on Thursday at the White House.
“This administration has dedicated unprecedented resources over the past 16 months to fulfill the federal government’s responsibility to secure the Southwest border. The president looks forward to discussing those efforts and other matters of mutual interest with Governor Brewer,” the official said. (Reuters)

Does this sound like the BS it was not intended to sound like? Meaningless Orwellian drivel.

By a 3-2 vote the board moves to suspend county-funded travel to the state, possibly terminate contracts with Arizona-based companies, and divest the county pension fund of Arizona state and municipal bonds. Residents attending the meeting spoke out on both sides of the issue.
Among the speakers against the boycott were family members of Jamiel Shaw II, a 17-year-old football player who was recruited by Stanford and Rutgers before he was shot to death in 2008. Pedro Espinoza, a member of the 18th Street gang who was in the U.S. illegally, has been charged with murder in the case. He had been released from jail a day before the shooting after serving time for another offense.
“I was coming here thinking what can I say to touch their hearts? But you don’t have one,” Tommie Shaw, Shaw’s grandmother, told the supervisors.
You go Grandma! And we, at least, are sorry for your loss. I don’t think the LA City Council cares enough to be sorry.
They are too busy pandering.
And that, after all, is what all the noise is about.

I'm Too Busy...

It’s Memorial Day.

The day we are supposed to thank those men and women brave enough to sacrifice their lives so that people like me can blog and willfully ignorant and arrogant Liberals can continue to lie.

I say, thank you.

We need more people like that.

But what we don’t need is more ignorance and political grandstanding.

But this the Obama Administration. What else could you expect.

President Obama has turned down Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer’s request to meet while she’s in Washington next week as tensions mount between his administration and Arizona over the state’s new law cracking down on illegal immigrants.

Brewer will be in Washington to meet with other governors. She said Friday that she had asked to meet with Obama and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to discuss border security and immigration. But Obama’s schedule “doesn’t allow for a meeting” with her, White House spokesman Adam Abrams said, adding that the president “does intend to sit down with the governor in the future.”

When Obama returns from his Chicago vacation on Tuesday, he will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Peru President Alan Garcia at the White House. On Wednesday, Obama is meeting with Gen. Ray Odierno, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, before heading to an event in Pittsburgh and hosting a concert at the White House to honor Paul McCartney.

On Thursday, Obama will speak at Secretary Clinton’s reception for a new partnership between U.S. and India. On Friday, the president will welcome the Major League Soccer men’s championship team, Real Salt Lake, to the White House.

I’m sorry, I can’t meet with you tonight, I have to get my hair done and play Beatles Rock Band with my kids.

The apparent snub comes after Justice Department officials told Arizona’s attorney general and aides to the governor Friday that the federal government has serious reservations about the state’s new immigration law. They responded that a lawsuit against the state isn’t the answer.

“I told them we need solutions from Washington, not more lawsuits,” said Attorney General Terry Goddard, a Democrat.

And Terry “The Tool” is against the law to begin with and was thrown off the legal team by Brewer. Well, it’s nearly impossible to believe Terry Goddard would have the balls to go against his Homo Sapien Liberalis kin and do his job properly.

But our Governor won’t get the light of day from the Liberal Political Elite.

Their too busy with their Agenda and their sanctimony.

But when a Terrorist comes across the border and kills people, they will have been their since “Day One”. Just watch for it! :)

But instead we get this kind of crap:

“The law signed by Brewer of Arizona is just like the German Nazi laws that make Jews scared to go out on the streets. We have to smash their business agreements in the nose. We have to declare war on Arizona.”
— Ricardo Rocha, journalist and TV presenter, said of the immigration law (TIME, April 28, 2010)

Teachable Moment:

A “Terry Stop” is a stop of a person by law enforcement officers based upon “reasonable suspicion” that a person may have been engaged in criminal activity, whereas an arrest requires “probable cause” that a suspect committed a criminal offense. The name comes from the standards established in a 1968 case, Terry v. Ohio.

The issue in the case was whether police should be able to detain a person and subject him to a limited search for weapons without probable cause for arrest. The Court held that police may conduct a limited search of a person for weapons that could endanger the officer or those nearby, even in the absence of probable cause for arrest and any weapons seized may be introduced in evidence.

When a police officer observes unusual conduct which leads him or her to reasonably suspect criminal activity may be occurring and that the persons with whom he is dealing may be armed and presently dangerous, the officer might approach and briefly detain the subjects for the purpose of conducting a limited investigation. The officer must identify himself or herself as a police officer and may make reasonable inquiries. If after initial investigation the officer still has a reasonable fear for the safety of himself and others, the officer may conduct a carefully limited search of the outer clothing in an attempt to discover weapons that might be used to assault him or her.

Oh no! Racial Profiling!! :(

And then there’s The Ministry of Truth:

“Day of outrage, anger on the streets of Phoenix and across this country tonight,” ABC anchor David Muir declared, pleading: “Will an army of protesters be heard?” Reporter Jeremy Hubbard began his story for World News: “In their most massive numbers yet, a deluge of adversaries rally and rail against what could soon be the law of the land in Arizona.”

Will the 7,000 a t Tempe Diablo Stadium in support of the law be noticed??

Will the LA Times wonder about a poll they did where they misstated the Law and still 50% of the people supported it!

From the Los Angeles Times: “50% of registered voters surveyed said they support the law, which compels police to check the immigration status of those they suspect are in the country illegally, while 43% oppose it… Strong majorities of white voters and those over 50 support the Arizona law, while Latinos and those under 30 are heavily opposed.”

Even though that misstates the law (see Terry Stop) the race baiters lost.

Whoops!

But will the Ministry of Truth Media notice?

Yeah, right…as if…

Liberals and the Open Borders crowd are too busy pushing their agenda to care what the truth really is.

They want to tell you what it is, for them.

And that’s enough.

IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

FREEDOM IS SLAVERY

So here’s another one you won’t likely here much about:

ZAPATA, Texas (AP) – The waters of Falcon Lake normally beckon boaters with waterskiing and world-record bass fishing. But this holiday weekend, fishermen on the waters that straddle the U.S.-Mexico border are on the lookout for something more sinister: pirates.

Twice in recent weeks, fishermen have been robbed at gunpoint by marauders that the local sheriff says are “spillover” from fighting between rival Mexican drug gangs.

Boaters are concerned about their safety, and the president of the local Chamber of Commerce is trying to assure people that everything’s fine on the U.S. side of the lake.

At the fishing camp his family has owned for 50 years, Jack Cox now sleeps with a loaded shotgun at his feet and a handgun within reach.

In the American waters, Cox said, “you’re safer, but you’re not safe.” Mexican commercial fishermen regularly cross to set their nets illegally, why wouldn’t gunmen do the same? he asked.

Two weeks ago, the Texas Department of Public Safety warned boaters to avoid the international boundary that zig-zags through the lake, which is 25 miles long and 3 miles across at its widest point. Authorities also urged anyone on the water to notify relatives of their boating plans to aid law enforcement in case of trouble.

Since issuing the warning, most boats have stayed on the U.S. side.

“That’s a good indication. It means they’re getting the message,” Texas Parks and Wildlife Capt. Fernando Cervantes said Thursday as he patrolled with two other game wardens. “They’re still coming out, but they’re not going across.”

The border is marked by 14 partially submerged concrete towers that mark the Rio Grande’s path before the lake was created in 1954.

Rejoice, The Media is there to cover “The News”. :(

Of Ironies Lost

President Obama requests a meeting with Republicans.
They have a chin wag.
They talk about immigration, but there’s nothing agreed.
Just after the meeting, Obama puts out a press release saying he is going to send 1200 troops to the border.
He didn’t say anything about it in the meeting. He doesn’t say anything through official channels. He just throws it out there through a press release.
As if the meeting was  just a pretense and he sat in the meeting the whole time just getting his jollies off, “I’ve a got secret and boy wouldn’t you like to know, but I’m not telling!” <>

Then there’s this:
The Department of Homeland Security is alerting Texas authorities to be on the lookout for a suspected member of the Somalia-based Al Shabaab terrorist group who might be attempting to travel to the U.S. through Mexico, a security expert who has seen the memo tells FOXNews.com.
The warning follows an indictment unsealed this month in Texas federal court that accuses a Somali man in Texas of running a “large-scale smuggling enterprise” responsible for bringing hundreds of Somalis from Brazil through South America and eventually across the Mexican border. Many of the illegal immigrants, who court records say were given fake IDs, are alleged to have ties to other now-defunct Somalian terror organizations that have merged with active organizations like Al Shabaab, al-Barakat and Al-Ittihad Al-Islami.
In 2008, the U.S. government designated Al Shabaab a terrorist organization. Al Shabaab has said its priority is to impose Sharia, or Islamic law, on Somalia; the group has aligned itself with Al Qaeda and has made statements about its intent to harm the United States.
In recent years, American Somalis have been recruited by Al Shabaab to travel to Somalia, where they are often radicalized by more extremist or operational anti-American terror groups, which Al Shabaab supports. The recruiters coming through the Mexican border are the ones who could be the most dangerous, according to law enforcement officials.
Somalis are classified by border and immigration officials as “special interest” — illegal immigrants who get caught trying to cross the Mexican border into the U.S. who come from countries that are considered a high threat to the U.S., Neuhaus Schaan explained.
DHS did not respond to multiple e-mail and phone requests for comment.
In addition to the Somali immigration issue, Mexican smugglers are coaching some Middle Eastern immigrants before they cross the border – schooling them on how to dress and giving them phrases to help them look and sound like Latinos, law enforcement sources told FoxNews.com.
“There have been a number of certain communities that have noticed this, villages in northern Mexico where Middle Easterners try to move into town and learn Spanish,” Neuhaus Schaan said. “People were changing there names from Middle Eastern names to Hispanic names.”
Security experts say the push by illegal immigrants to try to fit in also could be the realization of what officials have feared for years: Latin American drug cartels are helping jihadist groups bring terrorists across the Mexican border.

J. Peter Pham, senior fellow and director of the Africa Project at the National Committee on American Foreign Policy, said that for the past ten years there’s been suspicion by U.S. law enforcement that drug cartels could align with international terrorist organizations to bring would-be-jihadists into the U.S.
That kind of collaboration is already being seen in Africa, said Dr. Walid Phares, director of the Future Terrorism Project at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies.
“Al Qaeda could easily say, “Ok, now we want your help getting these guys into the United States,” Phares said. “Eventually the federal government will pay more attention, but there is a window of time now where they can get anyone they want to get in already.”
Experts also say the DHS alert and recent court case highlights the threat of terrorists penetrating the Mexican/Texas border — and the growing threat of Somali recruitment efforts to bring Americans of Somali descent back to Somalia for jihadist training, creating homegrown terrorists.
Pham says the DHS alert comes too late. “They’re just covering themselves for the fact that DHS has been failing to date to deal effectively with this,” he said. “They’re already here.”

We’ll tell you to look out for terrorists coming into the country but we won’t secure the border!!

Instead, we’ll bash people who ARE trying to.

“It’s something that certainly has to be watched, but I don’t think it’s an imminent threat,” he said. “This has to be put in context with people smuggling — everybody and their brother is getting into the United States through Mexico; I read last week that some Chinese were crossing, it’s just a big market.”

We’ll call them “racists”, “nazi” and claim they violate “human rights” and have massive lying hate fests.
Oh, the Irony.
It will be lost on the Pro-Illegal Liberal crowd through.

And those 1,200 troops??
US National Guard troops being sent to the Mexican border will be used to stem the flow of guns and drugs across the frontier and not to enforce US immigration laws, the State Department said Wednesday.
The clarification came after the Mexican government urged Washington not to use the additional troops to go after illegal immigrants.
President Barack Obama on Tuesday authorized the deployment of up to 1,200 additional troops to border areas but State Department spokesman Philip Crowley told reporters, “It’s not about immigration.”
He said the move was “fully consistent with our efforts to do our part to stem, you know, violence, to interdict the flow of dangerous people and dangerous goods — drugs, guns, people.”
He said the extra troops would be used to free up civilians engaged in support functions so that law enforcement personnel can be increased along the 2,000-mile-long (3,200 kilometer) border.
I wonder if he got this idea from Big Sis, Janet Napalitano, after all when she was Governor here she sent National Guard troops to the border to look like she was doing something (and to poke Bush in the political eye) but they were there for “administrative” purposes and were actually unarmed!!
And the fact that Obama went around Congress straight to a press release is obviously a political eye poke in of itself.
Oh, Look he’s doing something!
He cares!
He hears you!
Hope and Change!
yes We Can
Si Se Puede! :)
When, the truth is, he’s just looking for political advantage.
Nothing else.
Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever, whose jurisdiction includes about 80 miles of the Arizona-Mexico border, said 1,200 soldiers might make a difference in a smaller portion of the border. “But if you spread it across the border, it’s like spitting into the wind,” Dever said.
Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard, a Democrat who has prosecuted rings of drug and immigrant smugglers, said the planned deployment was a good first step, but believes that the president’s plan should evolve to include more troops and more authority for the soldiers.
“I’ll take what we can get,” Goddard said. “Again, I don’t think this is the final response.”
But he’s been openly basing SB 1070!
Goddard said Tuesday that the bill “does nothing to improve border security or address the core issues of illegal immigration.” He also said it would “take law enforcement resources away from stopping more serious crimes.”
The irony…
Oh, and he’s running against Gov. Brewer for Governor. But I’m sure that has nothing to do with it! :)
And I’m sure the Ministry of Truth/Mainstream Media will gush all over Obama for his
compromise” with the racists!.
That is when they aren’t savaging him for the Oil Spill (which is hilarious in it’s own irony).
“In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all…”

Arizona Strikes Back

Before beginning, here’s the warm-up act, our own “Sanctuary City” Phil, Phil Gordon, the Mayor of Phoenix:
Mayor Phil Gordon was interviewed by “ThinkProgress.org.”  Gordon says “The last thing we want in this country is an individual like J.D. Hayworth in the Congress who is full of racism, will talk forever, and use every means to push his hate.” (KFYI)
But this diatribe is not full of hate, no….not at all… :)

The Pre-Show:
SAY NO TO SAN DIEGO
Arizona tourists are biting back against San Diego for its city council’s decision to boycott the Grand Canyon State over its immigration law signed by Gov. Jan Brewer last month.
Arizona tourists are biting back against San Diego for its city council’s decision to boycott the Grand Canyon State over its immigration law signed by Gov. Jan Brewer last month.
Would-be tourists have notified the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau and some hotels that they are canceling their scheduled travel to the coastal vacation destination, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
According to the newspaper, the convention bureau has received about 25-30 emails from Arizona residents, with some saying they are canceling their reservations and taking their money elsewhere.
That has tourism officials urging Arizonans to consider the resolutions as merely symbolic and local politics at work.

Poor babies…. :(

“We’re in a very tough environment already because of everything else going on, and we don’t need another negative impact to our industry,” ConVis President Joe Terzi told the Union-Tribune. “This affects all the hardworking men and women who count on tourism for their livelihoods, so we’re saying, don’t do something that hurts their livelihoods.”

“I’ve been approached by a number of hotels who are very concerned because they’ve received cancelations from Arizona guests,” Namara Mercer, executive director of the county Hotel-Motel Association, told the newspaper.
Roughly 2 million Arizonans visit San Diego each year but the recession has taken a toll on the hotel industry that was hoping for a comeback this year. Hotels are offering deep discounts to fill up their undersold rooms while the tourism board spends $7 million this spring and summer season to promote travel to the area.
San Diego Councilwoman Donna Frye said she believes some Arizona residents are acting out of a misunderstanding.
“The City Council did not pass a resolution boycotting Arizona, and I would hope that the good citizens of Arizona understand that and will continue to visit San Diego,” Frye said.
School board President Shelia Jackson said that while she was disappointed to hear of people opting to stay away from San Diego, she doesn’t regret her vote.
“It’s sad that people would cancel their plans to come here in reaction to that, but I still think we did the right thing,” Jackson said. “Certainly, we know how important tourism is to San Diego, and it wasn’t my intent to impact the tourism trade.”
The message: Don’t do as I do.
We pass sanctimonious proclamations intent on hurting Arizona tourism but don’t you dare turn around and hit us back!
That’s not fair!
San Diego to Arizona: “Look, just because we called you racist bigots…doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t visit:” :)
BOYCOTT THE BOYCOTTERS!
Tit for tat!
What’s good for the Goose is good for the gander!
Then we’ll see how sanctimonious they are!

And then there’s this ditty I found in a Seattle paper:
The Federal Way School District will not follow a new state requirement for collecting data on students’ ethnic backgrounds.
Starting this fall, parents of Federal Way students will have 57 race and/or ethnicities to choose from when filling out their enrollment and registration card.
However, for students who do not fill out the card, the school district has been ordered to do so on behalf of those students — and guess their ethnicity.
“Perhaps you or someone else at OSPI or (U.S. Department of Education) could help me understand how I train my staff to visually recognize the differences between a Hmong or Vietnamese, or between a Fijian and a Samoan, or between a Lummi and Makah,” Murphy wrote in a letter. “In the era when all school districts are struggling mightily to make our organizations open and welcoming to the vast variety of immigrants entering each year, we are now required to simply guess at who they are, what they are, from whence they came. There may be no more insulting an act that we could perform for incoming families.”

Some of the changes have come from the federal government, while others have been brought about by the state’s Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).

Except maybe are you an Illegal alien? :)
But don’t lose sight of the fact that the Federal & State governments are asking.
But Arizona is racist for asking after a legal stop if you have any identification?
And finally:
So if a cop stops you for violating the law? say speeding.
And when he comes up to your car and ask for your ID and Insurance that they are racist, nazi pigs.
But a Census work worker comes to your house because you did answer the census and asks you all kinds of personal question, like what race you are.
They aren’t racists only because they won’t be calling ICE if they come across a Drop House.
Huh? :(

Now on to the main show.
Sarah Palin, the lighting rod of hate for the Left was just here and she this to say…
As calls spread for an economic boycott of Arizona, the state’s governor enlisted the help of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on Saturday to defend a new law cracking down on illegal immigration.
Jan Brewer and Palin blamed President Barack Obama for the state law, saying the measure is Arizona’s attempt to enforce immigration laws because the federal government won’t do it.
“It’s time for Americans across this great country to stand up and say, ‘We’re all Arizonans now,’” Palin said. “And in clear unison we say, ‘Mr. President: Do your job. Secure our border.‘”
The former Alaska governor appeared with Brewer at a brief news conference on Saturday. The event launched a website that Brewer said was an effort to educate America about border security and discourage an economic boycott of the state.
The site, funded by Brewer’s re-election campaign, shows pictures of Brewer and Palin and invites visitors to sign a petition opposing boycotts. It includes a list of politicians and organizations calling for the boycotts and asks visitors to call or e-mail to “let them know that you support Arizona.”

“Our purpose today is to help the rest of the nation understand the crisis which confronts our state,” Brewer said, citing the presence of human and drug smugglers.
The immigration law takes effect July 29 unless blocked by pending court challenges. It requires police enforcing another law to ask a person about his or her immigration status if there’s “reasonable suspicion” that the person is in the country illegally. Being in the country illegally would become a state crime.
“I think for most American people the reaction to this would be, ‘Why haven’t the police already been doing that?’” Palin said.
Obama and some city, state and foreign governments have condemned the law, which critics say will lead to racial profiling of Hispanics. Brewer on Saturday reiterated her assertion that profiling is illegal and will not be tolerated.
“The president apparently considers it a wonderful opportunity to divide people along racial lines for his personal political convenience,” Brewer said.

Arizona Democratic Party spokeswoman Jennifer Johnson said Brewer’s the one who has divided people, which she’s done by signing controversial bills, and “puts her political survival first every single day.”
“Every word she said today was crafted with her Republican primary in mind,” Johnson said. “Arizona is just an afterthought.”
And Democrats never ever do that. Like Obama pandering to Hispanics. No, they are as pure as the driven snow.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has had enough with the left-wing attacks on her state after its legislature passed a now controversial law to curb illegal immigration. She was especially irritated by a joke President Obama made about this law at the recent White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Back then Obama said, once again proving he has sense of humor: “We all know what happens in Arizona when you don’t have ID — adios, amigos.”
“It’s fair to ask whether he intends to be the Commander-in-Chief or the Comic-in-Chief,” Brewer shot back yesterday when announcing the launch of a website aimed at educating the United States about her state’s new law. “Since the president’s joke was so inappropriate, I suppose, if I wanted to join in the comedian game, I could suggest that he should not give up his day job.”
Although the above made perfectly clear what she thinks of Obama, Brewer wasn’t quite done yet. “Unfortunately, though, he isn’t doing very well at that one, either,” she added as a punchline.
The president, Gov. Brewer said, apparently sees this all as “a wonderful opportunity to divide people along racial lines for his personal political gain.” It goes without saying that she – rightly – considers this a terrible tactic. “This isn’t an immigration crisis but a border security crisis,” she said to loud applause from those present. Although she’s certainly right that the Obama’s use of the race card is contemptible, I wonder what else she expected from a disciple of the infamous Saul Alinsky. Obama’s simply doing what his teacher taught him. He’s using Alinsky’s rules for radicals against his opponents, including the governor of Arizona. Is it despicable? Sure. Is it surprising though? Certainly not.(David Horowitz)

Alinsky “Rules for Radicals”:
Rule 3: Whenever possible, go outside the experience of an opponent. Here you want to cause confusion, fear, and retreat.
Rule 4: Make opponents live up to their own book of rules. “You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity.”
Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.
Rule 6: A good tactic is one your people enjoy. “If your people aren’t having a ball doing it, there is something very wrong with the tactic.”

And Boy do the Democrats just love to call everyone who disagrees with them a Racist. They really do.
