The Inconvenient Truth Being Gore-d

In 1975 Newsweek proclaimed we were all going to Freeze.
In the 1980s Global Warming Started.
Then Came the P.T. Barnum of the Modern Age, Al Gore.
We were all going to fry.
Only problem, it keeps snowing on the Global Warming conferences, like the miserable failure that was Copenhagen.
So they had changed to the Orwellianly simplistic “Global Climate Change” by then so they could blame anything on it and still get the power they craved.
They still do, Cap & Trade is still on the plate for the Democrats, who are facing a potential electoral Armageddon in November have to get everything passed before then.
So it’s the cramdown on Steroids!
But history may repeat itself first.
Noted scientists at a Chicago climate conference declare that global warming is not only dead, but that the planet faces a big chill for decades to come. What about those frozen wind turbines?
It’s not exactly Copenhagen or Kyoto, but the 700 scientists attending the fourth International Conference on Climate Change, sponsored by the Heartland Institute, had some chilling news of their own in the most liberal sense.
“Global warming is over — at least for a few decades,” Don Easterbrook, emeritus professor of geology at Western Washington University, told the gathering. “However, the bad news is that global cooling is even more harmful to humans than global warming, and a cause for greater concern.”
Easterbrook and 74 other presenters at the conference said what everyone already knows, having shoveled record amounts of global warming off our sidewalks and driveways last winter.
We don’t need computer models to tell us, baby, it’s getting cold outside. Of course, the doomsayers will claim that global warming causes global warming. Right.
“Rather than global warming at a rate of about 1 (degree) Fahrenheit per decade, records of past natural cycles indicate there may be global cooling for the first few decades of the 21st century to about 2030,” Easterbrook said.
He spoke of natural cycles that have been occurring since the discovery of fire and mankind’s first carbon emissions, long before the invention of the wheel and the SUV.
Easterbrook and the other scientists reported on sudden and natural climate fluctuations documented in the geologic record, all before 1945. Two big climate changes occurred in the past 15,000 years, and another 60 smaller changes in the last 5,000 years.
Another presenter, James M. Taylor, an environmental policy expert and a fellow at the Heartland Institute, said that global cooling is happening now.
He pointed to data provided by the Rutgers University Global Snow Lab showing snow records from the last 10 years exceeding the records set in the 1960s and 1970s.
Based on new analysis of ice cores from Greenland to Antarctica, Easterbrook said global temperatures rose and fell from 9 to 15 degrees in a single century or less, a natural phenomenon he called “astonishing.”
We see a bit of irony in an early February report that 11, 115-foot-tall wind turbines installed to provide power to 11 Minnesota towns were not functioning because they couldn’t handle the record cold temperatures of a harsh winter.
Global cooling, it seems, stalled their fight against global warming.

They should be thawed out by now but Dan Geiger, electrical director for Chaska, Minn., said at the time the city had been receiving inquiries as to why its 160-kilowatt $300,000 turbine wasn’t working.
He told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune it had not worked since mid-November. That’s what we call a green energy no-spin zone.
Yes, it’s warmer today than it was a century ago, but it was even warmer when Eric the Red settled on Greenland in 986.
The climate there supported the Viking way of life based upon cattle, hay, grain and herring for about 300 years, predating the Industrial Revolution.
By 1100, a colony of about 3,000 was thriving there. But then came the Little Ice Age, and by 1400, average temperatures had declined by about 2.7 degrees Fahrenheit, and the advancing glaciers doomed the Viking colony in Greenland.
They were doomed by global cooling.
In testimony before Congress on May 6, Britain’s Lord Monckton noted that “neither global mean surface temperature nor its rates of change in recent decades have been exceptional, unusual, inexplicable, or unprecedented.”
He also advised: “There are many urgent priorities that need the attention of Congress, and it is not for me as an invited guest in your country to say what they are. Yet I can say this much: On any view, ‘global warming’ is not one of them.”
We just hope the polar bears don’t catch their death of cold. (IBD)

“Global warming is over—at least for a few decades,” geologist Don Easterbrook, professor emeritus from Western Washington University told the Heartland Institute’s Fourth International Conference on Climate Change on May 19. He warned, however, us not to rejoice. Colder winters kill twice as many people as hot weather while crop production suffers from shorter growing seasons and weather-disrupted harvests.
Dan Miller, climate expert with the Roda Group and ardent believer in Anthropogenic Global Warming, responded to Easterbrook at Fox News: “It’s absurd to talk about global cooling when global heating is with us and accelerating.” But Miller is referring to the current temperature spike from an El Nino in the Pacific Ocean—a short-term climate event already ending, according to Pacific sea surface temperatures. The key question now is where the temperatures will go after the El Nino fades.
Easterbrook offered geological evidence that the earth has had ten big “recent” warmings that dwarf the 0.7 degree temperature increase estimated for the 20th century. Over the past 15,000 years, those temperature shifts drove the earth’s temperatures radically up or down by 9–15 degrees C within a single century. He also noted 60 sharp-but-smaller temperature changes in the past 5,000 years. All of these occurred before 1945, when the post-war Industrial Boom began to ramp up human-emitted CO2 levels.
Easterbrook calls this evidence “astonishing.” Current data seem to support Easterbrook’s prediction of an end to global warming, at least for the next three decades. Since 1998, atmospheric CO2 has continued to increase—but total solar activity, as measured by satellites, has declined sharply after trending strongly, but erratically, upward for 150 years.
Satellite-measured solar activity has also been trending down moderately, which essentially predicts cooling. And the Pacific Decadal Oscillation has shifted into its cool phase, as NASA told us in 2008. Tree rings and coral samples tell us these PDO shifts have predicted moderate cooling for the whole earth, lasting for about 30 years at a stretch. Easterbrook predicts that this PDO phase will last until 2030, with warming from 2030–2060, and then cooling again to 2090.
The PDO, however, doesn’t seem to control whether the planet as a whole will warm or cool over the next century. Easterbrook’s geology says powerful, natural cycles, probably solar-driven, control longer-term climate trends. Ice cores, seashells, and fossil pollen all show a moderate-but-abrupt 1,500-year cycle, which apparently gave us the Little Ice Age and Medieval Warming, the Roman Warming, and 500 similar previous warmings over the past million years.
The prediction: Higher temperatures will not parboil the earth. Global warming will continue, slowly and erratically, perhaps with another 0.5 degree C over several hundred years. The biggest danger will be extended drought in unusual regions, almost certainly including Kenya and California. Such drought ended the Mayan civilization in the 9th century. But it’s as unstoppable as the sun itself. This very real threat should be the focus of modern technology in helping effected areas to adapt.
Eventually, we’ll get another big Ice Age, and our descendents will deride the memory of Al Gore’s “inconvenient truth”—as they shiver watching glaciers approach Chicago.
And the 19th Century solutions proposed by the Democrats will certainly save us all for that too!! :)
But that’s a truly inconvenient truth. :)

Eat Your Veggies Big Sis!

Remember the battle to get your kids to eat their vegetables.
The “I don’t wanna!”
“You can’t make me!”
Well, the Obama Administration  and Liberals in general are throwing such the tantrum.
But it’s about Arizona.
“I don’t think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution,” {ICE Chief John} Morton told the editorial board in comments that echoed those made by Obama and other members of his Cabinet.
I don’t wanna do my job!

Top Official Says Feds May Not Process Illegals Referred From Arizona
A top Department of Homeland Security official reportedly said his agency will not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona authorities.

A top Department of Homeland Security official reportedly said his agency will not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona authorities.
John Morton, assistant secretary of homeland security for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, made the comment during a meeting on Wednesday with the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune, the newspaper reports.
“I don’t think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution,” Morton told the newspaper.
The best way to reduce illegal immigration is through a comprehensive federal approach, he said, and not a patchwork of state laws.
Immigrant rights’ supporters around the country took to the streets on May 1 to protest Arizona’s new immigration law which seeks to identify, prosecute and deport illegal immigrants.  Take a look at the massive protests.
The law, which criminalizes being in the state illegally and requires authorities to check suspects for immigration status, is not “good government,” Morton said.
In response to Morton’s comments, DHS officials said President Obama has ordered the Department of Justice to examine the civil rights and other implications of the law.
“That review will inform the government’s actions going forward,” DHS spokesman Matt Chandler told Fox News on Friday.
Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano said ICE is not obligated to process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona authorities.
“ICE has the legal discretion to accept or not to accept persons delivered to it by non-federal personnel,” Napolitano said. “It also has the discretion to deport or not to deport persons delivered to it by any government agents, even its own.”
Morton, according to a biography posted on ICE’s website, began his federal service in 1994 and has held numerous positions at the Department of Justice, including as a trial attorney and special assistant to the general counsel in the former Immigration and Naturalization Service and as counsel to the deputy attorney general.
Border apprehensions in Arizona, where roughly 500,000 illegal immigrants are estimated to be living, are up 6 percent since October, according to federal statistics. Roughly 6.5 million residents live in Arizona.
Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-AL, said it appeared the Obama administration is “nullifying existing law” and suggested Morton may not be the right person for his post if he fails to enforce federal immigration law.
“If he feels he cannot enforce the law, he shouldn’t have the job,” Sessions told Fox News. “That makes him, in my view, not fulfilling the responsibilities of his office.”
Sessions said the U.S. government has “systematically failed” to enforce federal immigration law and claimed Morton’s statement is an indication that federal officials do not plan on working with Arizona authorities regarding its controversial law.
“They’re telegraphing to every ICE agency in America that they really don’t intend on cooperating with Arizona,” Sessions said. “The federal government should step up and do it. It’s their responsibility.”

The American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona called it encouraging.
“I think what it means is that they have some doubts themselves about the constitutionality of SB 1070, and I think that they doubt, as many of us do, that this law will ever take effect,” said Roberto Reveles, of ACLU of Arizona.
The American Communists Liberals United can also be trusted to be on the side of the people! :(

When asked about Morton’s comments, Matt Chandler, deputy press secretary of the Department of Homeland Security issued this statement:“This administration has dedicated unprecedented manpower, technology, and infrastructure resources to the Southwest border over the course of the past 14 months and has prioritized smart, effective immigration enforcement that focuses first on criminal aliens who pose a threat to our communities. Across the country, we exercise lawful discretion in order to focus our efforts on violent and dangerous criminals in order to make our streets safer. The President ordered (the Department of Justice) to examine the civil rights and other implications of the Arizona law and that review will inform the government’s actions going forward. We continue to work with Congress on comprehensive reform of our immigration system, which would provide lasting and dedicated resources to secure our borders and make our communities safer.”(KPHO)
Let’s all do the Weasel Dance!! :(

The there’s this admission in the LA Times that I’m sure no liberal Pro-Illegal will remember after they read it.
A new program known as Secure Communities, which seeks to identify illegal immigrants in jails and prisons using fingerprints and other tools, is designed to tackle that problem, but will take time to fully implement, he said.
Most of this week’s arrests occurred in Florida and in Puerto Rico, ICE said in a statement, with many others in Atlanta. Those arrested came from 60 different countries in Latin America, Asia, Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, ICE said.
Damn that’s a diverse group of Latinos!
After all, it’s racist to even consider enforcing immigration because it’s hurts the poor Latinos!
And Latinos are the only ones who are Illegal, after all.
That’s why it’s racist! :(

Now take a look at this: From the Mexican Sate of Sonora Tourism Board:

Now doesn’t that give you the warm fuzzies for Rocky Point? :(

Democratic lawmakers, including Sen. Richard J. Durbin of Illinois and Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, this week unveiled a comprehensive immigration package that provides a path to legalization for the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants currently living in the U.S. The bill also calls for tough new enforcement measures.
However, chances for passage before the November election are considered slim.(LA TIMES)

Can you say AMNESTY: THE SEQUEL…coming to a Political Theatre near you.
OH JOY!
We are are from the Government and we are hear to help you!
Especially, if you’re here Illegally! :)

Over Cass'd and Down Under

Down Under and Over Cass’d

May 21, 2010 · Leave a Comment · Edit This

Despite President Obama’s statements in opposition to reinstituting the Fairness Doctrine (at least on broadcasters), it appears his regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein (Information Czar), holds a different take when it comes to the Internet. An uncovered clip from a radio program has found Sunstein declaring:
“Sites from one point of view agree to provide links to other sites so if you are reading a conservative magazine they would provide a link to a liberal site and vice versa…If we could get voluntary arrangements in that direction it would be great. …But the word ‘voluntary’ is a little complicated. Sometimes people don’t do what’s best for our society… And the idea would be to have a legal mandate as the last resort and to make sure it’s as neutral as possible…”
This in effect would entail heavy regulation and enforcement of all content on the Internet, and would be a gross violation of property and First Amendment rights. And why should anyone blindly assume government bureaucrats are neutral enforcers? In effect, this is the Fairness Doctrine for the Internet.
The new push for Net Neutrality centers on subjecting Internet access to Title II of the Communications Act, thereby applying a vague rule preventing “discrimination” to allow the government to manage the way service providers run their networks. By simply tossing the content side of the Internet under Title II as well, one can imagine how this same rule can result in Fairness Doctrine 2.0.
Sunstein’s suggestion should come as no surprise. He recently co-authored the book Nudge, which argues that policies should be designed to “nudge” people into making better choices without full-on coercion. Sunstein says he opposes outright bans or mandates, but if you aren’t forced to read the story, someone will certainly be mandated to put it in front of you. There also appears to be quite a slippery slope (which prompted a fantastic discussion in the Cato Unbound blog last month) from Sunstein’s oxymoronic term “libertarian paternalism” (or “nudging”) to hard paternalism with heavy government involvement.
It’s hardly the first “nudge”. Health care, Financial Reform, Cap & Trade, and the Misinformation about the AZ Immigration Bill.
I guess “nudge” is the new Orwellian term the Liberals have come up with for takeover.
What’s more, Sunstein wants to “legally force” Americans “to do what’s best for our society” and water down their free speech (granted by the US Constitution), by mandating websites with pop-up links to opposing government propaganda be “forcibly included on political blogs.”
ABC,NBC,CBS, CNN,MSDNC, The New York Times, Newsweek, HuffingtonPost,Media Matters, etc are not enough!
Carriers don’t like FCC chairman Julius Genachowski’s “Third Way” proposal for net neutrality because it would bring them under increased regulation by classifying broadband as a “telecommunications service.” Public interest groups generally maintain Gonachowski’s approach would lead to delivery of faster broadband services to more Americans including many who have been shortchanged in rural areas.
So how long before The Internet is a “civil rights” and “social justice” issue and  a right??
It is called the “third way” because the previous two attempts where struck down in court. But since when has that deterred Liberals?
*****************
The Next Liberal line:
“Even if racial profiling is officially banned, the new Arizona law continues to permit non-racially based profiling, such as profiling based on clothing or behavior,” wrote Louis Jacobson of Politifact.com.
“Many legal experts we spoke to saw a hazy, and perhaps unenforceable, line between permissible profiles and illegal ones.”
*************
Pew Research: Fully 73% say they approve of requiring people to produce documents verifying their legal status if police ask for them. Two-thirds (67%) approve of allowing police to detain anyone who cannot verify their legal status, while 62% approve of allowing police to question people they think may be in the country illegally.
After being asked about the law’s provisions, 59% say that, considering everything, they approve of Arizona’s new illegal immigration law while 32% disapprove.
Rasmussen Polls:
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Arizona finds that 71% now favor the immigration law, while 24% oppose it.
In late April, the law was supported by 64% of the state’s voters and opposed by 30%
Nationally, 55% of voters favor passage of such a law in their state.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 13% of Adults think Mexico wants to stop illegal immigration. Sixty-seven percent (67%) say Mexico does not want to stop its citizens from
entering the United States illegally. Another 20% are not sure.

Man that’s a lot of Racists! :)
But the Democrats in Congress give Mexican President Felipe Calderon a Standing Ovation for dissing us and lying about the law!
Calderon: “such laws as the Arizona law that is forcing our people to face discrimination.”
Calderon (2007):  The Mexican government, he said, would continue to “energetically protest unilateral actions” of the U.S. Congress on the immigration front that he said “exacerbate the persecution of undocumented Mexicans in the U.S.”
That’s your “unity” president  and our upstanding neighbor everyone!
******
People who know me also know my fondness for Australia.
“We need to improve that level of English if they’re going to stay on and work in Australia,” Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews told ABC radio in 2007.
RACISTS!!!!!

2/8/10: Australian Immigration Minister Chris Evans announced Monday several reforms to his country’s immigration policy, including several policy changes aimed at attracting more highly-skilled immigrants to the country.
Criticizing the ongoing trend for new immigrants to enroll for vocational courses for gaining residency, Evans said that Australia would change the current list of 106 skills in demand and review a points test based on qualifications, skills and proficiency in English currently used to assess migrants. He said that the present list will now be replaced by a “more targeted” Skilled Occupations List.
“We had tens of thousands of students studying cookery and accounting and hairdressing because that was on the list and that got them through to permanent residency,” Evans told Australian radio, adding that such courses will no longer be an assured path to permanent residence.
“The current points test puts an overseas student with a short-term vocational qualification gained in Australia ahead of a Harvard-educated environmental scientist,” Evans said.
“We want to make sure we’re getting the high-end applicants,” Evans said, stressing that the changes brought about by the new immigration policies would try to attract more health workers, including more doctors and nurses, as well more qualified professionals in the fields of engineering and mining.
“The new arrangements will give first priority to skilled migrants who have a job to go to with an Australian employer. For those who don’t have an Australian employer willing to sponsor them, the bar is being raised,” Evans said.
“If hospitals are crying out for and willing to sponsor nurses, then of course they should have priority over the 12,000 un-sponsored cooks who have applied and who, if they were all granted visas, would flood the domestic market,” he added.
Evans also pointed out that some 170,000 people applied for living and working permanently in Australia last year alone, when there were just 108,000 vacancies available. He added that all lower-skilled applications lodged before 1st September 2007 would be withdrawn and application fees worth $14 million refunded.
The reforms in Australia’s immigration policy comes in wake of reports that thousands of students from overseas, mainly from Asia, were manipulating the existing system by providing fraud documents to enroll for vocational courses at private Australian colleges, purely to gain residency permits.
So when will Felipe Calderon condemn them?
He won’t, the Illegal Immigrants are Asians!
May 21st, 2010: the same Minister in a Brisbane online paper: “While most Australian employers do the right thing, there is emerging evidence that some are using illegal workers in an organised and criminal way,” he said in a statement.
“If people want to migrate to Australia then they ought to look at the skills needs of Australia and who we are looking to bring in.”
RACISTS!

And just to add salt in the wound: Brazil jumps in
Brazil on Tuesday voiced sharp criticism of the controversial immigration law in the US state of Arizona, as South American nations gathered for a summit expected to also condemn the legislation.
The law “sacrifices the human rights of migrants” by criminalising those in the state without documentation, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
Brazil hoped the law would be revised “to avoid violating the rights of millions of foreigners who peacefully live and work in the United States,” it said.(AFP)
Bet they haven’t read it either.
And we, are the Racists!!

It's Mexican Fiesta Day!

In asking anew for an immigration overhaul, Obama showed solidarity with his guest of honor, Mexican President Felipe Calderon, who called Arizona’s law discriminatory and warned Mexico would reject any effort to “criminalize migration.” The United States and Mexico share a significant economic and political relationship that stands to be damaged the more the nations are at odds over immigration, which affects millions of people on both sides of the border.
Obama sought to show that he, too, is fed up with his own government’s failure to fix a system widely seen as broken. He said that would require solving border security, employment and citizenship issues all at once – the kind of effort that collapsed in Congress just three years ago.

It’s  called “COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM”  aka AMNESTY!

Mexican President Felipe Calderon, who called Arizona’s law discriminatory and warned Mexico would reject any effort to “criminalize migration.”
The fact that coming here Illegal is a crime is lost on the Pro-Illegal crowd.
And that this is the president of the main country practically throwing his citizens at us.
And who get’s an estimated $1 Billion dollars from illegals sending money back to Mexico.
Oh, the sanctimony of it all.

“In the United States of America, no law-abiding person – be they an American citizen, a legal immigrant, or a visitor or tourist from Mexico – should ever be subject to suspicion simply because of what they look like,” Obama said.
The ignorance or the law would be sad, if it wasn’t so willfully done.
But the liberals and the Pro-Illegal crowd have no intention of actually reading the law. Why spoil a good “moral outrage” with facts. :(

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is in Washington D.C., meeting with Mexican President Felipe Calderon, but his deputy chief of staff issued the following statement: “The mayor stands strongly behind the city council and he will not respond to threats from the state that has isolated itself from an America that values freedom, liberty and basic civil rights.”
<>

Then there’s the poser Michael Posner, who several days go apologized to the Chinese for the AZ Immigration law.
Well, he has gone into full political weasel mode ” Posner also told Foreign Policy’s blog The Cable that his remarks were taken out of context. He said the “broader context” was that the issue was raised to discuss the “political openness of this society.” He said he “should have been clearer,” but that “we never did get into the merits of the Arizona law.
Deep Fat Fried Weasel Feast, Table One!!! :)
Politicians only use “misspoke” “misquoted” and “out of context” when they get their private parts caught in the cookie.
jar and someone catches them.
So maybe, Mr. Posner if ACTUALLY READ the law maybe you wouldn’t take IT “out of context” either.
That will never happen.
It would spoil the liberals “moral outrage” and their sanctimony feast.

More high school hilarity from the Left:
There’s nothing wrong with the fact Debra Blessman kept secret from her students the name of the film she would require them to watch and analyze during finals week at Francis Howell High School. Today, however, the teacher might be wishing she had not kept her superiors in the St. Charles, Mo., school district in the dark about it. She planned to base final exams on the Michael Moore film, “Sicko“.
Apparently, however, Blessman did not expect any of her students to raise objections about the film. But one did.
On the morning of May 11, soon after learning about the film’s selection as the basis for the final exam in Blessman’s class, 18-year-old senior Celeste Finkenbine went straight to one of the school’s principals to raise her objections. Why? Because, based on her experiences with Blessman this semester and during a class three years earlier, Finkenbine didn’t think she would get very far pleading her case with the teacher she describes as a liberal.
When I contacted Dr. Renee Shuster, superintendent of the Francis Howell School District, she admitted the movie is not part of any district curriculum and that the teacher did not follow the process for having the film approved in advance. She also said that Finkenbine had been offered an alternative assignment that involves reading and analyzing the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s 7,000-word essay, “A Letter from a Birmingham Jail.”
It’s somewhat ironic that Finkenbine’s alternative assignment relates to Dr. King, because it was during a recent class discussion that King’s name came up and, according to Finkenbine, her teacher laid her liberal cards out on the table.
Finkenbine said that, after she compared her participation in Tea Party rallies with the civil disobedience in which Dr. King participated, Blessman responded to her by saying, “Well, we all know you’re a ‘teabagger.’”
Afterward, Finkenbine recalled, the teacher started laughing and everyone in the class started laughing about Blessman’s use of the derogatory term, prompting the student to think, “Wow! Did she really just say that?”
Having heard this account of life in Blessman’s classroom, I contacted Dr. Shuster again.
In addition to wanting to find out how district officials would deal with the teacher for using a film that was not approved in advance, I wanted to know how they would address Finkenbine’s allegation that the teacher called her a “teabagger” in front of the class.
Schuster responded by e-mail, saying, “We would address this through the teacher evaluation process which hopefully leads to improvement but can lead to termination.”
Translation:   Nothing!
Unfortunately, it appears all of the other students in Blessman’s class ended up having to watch and analyze “Sicko”. (Biggovernment.com)
But don’t worry, your little cherubs of joy won’t be indoctrinated to be socialist when they grow up.
After all, that’s why they President was appealing some weeks ago to Minorities and young people ONLY for support.
And the divide and conquer Race War that Democrats have started and continue to pour Napalm on is just them being “morally outraged” ,”compassionate” and “sensitive” to the needs of people.

The Power

In his victory speech, {Rand} Paul applauded the tea party movement and issued a stern warning to the political establishment: “I have a message, a message from the tea party, a message that is loud and clear and does not mince words: We’ve come to take our government back.”

“The tea party movement is about saving the country from a mountain of debt that is devouring our country and that I think could lead to chaos,” Paul said grimly, laying in to President Barack Obama for his participation in last year’s Copenhagen summit on global warming and accusing Obama of trying to “apologize for the industrial revolution.”

A political science professor in college taught me a very valuable lesson about politics.
It’s about power.
Not the money.
The money facilitates the power.
So the more money you have the more likely you’ll get the power you seek.
So you always need more power.
More power begets more money.
And more money begets more power.
But it is power that is the ultimate goal.
And the more power the better.
Which explains a lot about Liberalism and their need to control everyone and everything and make them do what they want, when they want, because they want.

And will explain the focus of the Liberal media last night as well.
Last night on MSDNC, for example, it was all about the PA special election for the late pork-king John Murtha’s seat.  The Democrat won that seat, by acting like a republican by the way, and thus they hold that seat.
That power was the most important thing to Mr “tingle up my leg” Chris Matthews and his array of liberal elite pundits.
That and the “establishment” Republican in KY lost to a “teabagger” (a liberal pejorative) which they consider a good thing because they believe they can beat him easier than the old line establishment candidate. So they were happy.
It was about advantage. Political advantage.
Meanwhile, over at MSDNC’s arch enemy, FOX, it was about the people. The people’s anger.
Arlene Specter, who was a Republican for 30 years but switched parties last year for sheer sake of re-election was soundly defeated by another Democrat because of that switch. His opponent beat him up with it.  Specter was supported from a far by the President.
His opponent sounded very “tea party” anti-establishment but that was just for the purpose of winning.
What will be interesting is that opponent now has to face the Republican in November, but he got here sounding like a Republican. So he’ll have to veer left now. Just like the President did in 2008.
So will that lead to his demise?
The dreaded flip-flop!
Time will tell.
Then  there was the race in Kentucky where Rand Paul, son of Ron Paul, a “tea party” Republican beat the establishment’s candidate.
Blanche Lincoln in Arkansas is in a run-off for the Democrat nomination because she wasn’t far left-enough but was also one of the key votes for Health Care.
MSDNC really didn’t care much about this one because they felt that neither Democrat was strong enough to win in November so it didn’t really mean anything to them.
The Liberals took no notice of Health Care’s unpopularity at all.

FOX focused on the message of the people.
MSDNC was focused on the power.
It couldn’t have been more stark if you tried.

“When [Republicans] were in charge, we doubled the deficit, and now with Democrats in charge, they’re tripling the deficit,” Paul said. “What the Tea Party says is there’s bipartisan blame to go around for the deficit and we have to do a better job.”–Rand Paul
Exactly. A Pox on both of your houses.
Now, let’s do something for the people. Not the political Elite.
Problem is, the Political Elite own the majority of the Media, The Congress, And The White House and they won’t go quietly, FROM EITHER PARTY.
Power is the drug, and boy are they addicted. Heavily addicted.
The White House is absolutely, positively correct that there is a divide between America and Washington – but what they fail to appreciate (or, more likely, they appreciate it but want to fake-out the press) is that Washington, D.C. now belongs to Barack Obama.
Just as the student radicals of the 1960s became the tenured faculty of the 2000s, so the worm has turned in the District of Columbia. The gates have been crashed and the one-time insurgents are now comfortably ensconced as the establishment. And with the health care bill, Mr. Obama and his band of former rebels have enacted an extremely unpopular law that they cannot possibly blame on the old guard (But boy they still believe it and try to sell it that way). George W. Bush may have “forced” Barack Obama’s hand on the stimulus, but Dubya had nary a thing to do with the health care bill.
This is why President Obama was wrong to equate the election of Scott Brown to his own victory, and why he’s wrong to push this story now. He is the ultimate insider now. That snappy “Hail to the Chief” he hears every time he walks into a room should be sign enough of this fact.
The White House likely knows this. They just don’t want us talking about how Obama can’t save a single high-profile candidate from a purple or blue state. They don’t want us to realize that his coattails have been torn and frayed by the choices he’s made in the last 17 months.
So focus on the race not the horses. The nags from “the people” and the Thoroughbred from “the establishment”.
The “teabagger” vs Washington Elites.
But in general elections, the dynamic will be very different. Republican challengers and incumbents will tar their Democratic opponents with a simple characterization: “A vote for my opponent is a vote for Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi’s agenda.” Democrats will have no such claim to make against Republicans.(RCP)

But the Liberal Media will come up with something, hopefully more convincing than “the party of no” because, guess what, We The People ARE the Party of NO.
NO more spending like drug addicts after a new high.
NO more government takeovers, bailouts, and patronage to cronies.
NO more government debt piles for the sake of piling.
The National Debt has gone up 3 Trillion Dollars in the 17 months of this administration!
It went up 5 Trillion in 8 years under Republicans.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!

On a lighter note: Rick Bayless, the Chicago superstar chef, (and winner of Top Chef Masters last year, The king of all Mexican food in America) was Twittering from the White House kitchen about today’s Obama White House state dinner honoring Mexican President Felipe Calderon and his wife, Margarita Zavala. Until the Tweets stopped. The White House kitchen is for cooking, not Tweeting.
The White House press operation wanted to downplay the glamor aspect of the state dinner; these are tough economic times. (Chicago Sun-Times)

And undoubtedly, at dinner, Obama will apologize for Arizona being unhappy with all the Mexican illegal immigrants, drug dealers, coyotes, mafia and gang wars going that the Mexican government practically throws at us.
After all, it disgraceful that we are upset about it. :(
And the same can be said for the political elite in Washington. They are annoyed that these uppity people want to spoil their power trips.
Well, I say it’s time to pull the plug and replace the light bulbs.
This election is too important for you not to care.

WTF! Arizona and China The Same?

If I wrote this as a joke, I’d catch crap for falsely depicting Barry & Co. as a bunch of pinkos. Associated Press:
The United States and China reported no major breakthroughs Friday after only their second round of talks about human rights since 2002…
Michael Posner, the assistant secretary of state, told reporters that another round will happen some time next year in Beijing…
Posner said in addition to talks on freedom of religion and expression, labor rights and rule of law, officials also discussed Chinese complaints about problems with U.S. human rights, which have included crime, poverty, homelessness and racial discrimination.
He said U.S. officials did not whitewash the American record and in fact raised on its own a new immigration law in Arizona that requires police to ask about a person’s immigration status if there is suspicion the person is in the country illegally.
That’s right: We said “sorry” to China for violating human rights by enforcing our own immigration laws.
Jay Nordlinger at the Corner asks: “Did we, the United States, talking to a government that maintains a gulag, that denies people their basic rights, that in all probability harvests organs, apologize for the new immigration law in Arizona?” Yep! And John Hinderaker at Powerline wants to know: “Is it unfair to say that the Obama administration consists of a bunch of anti-American ignoramuses? If so, why?” Ya got me! (Daily Caller)

Yes, folks! The people who brought you forced abortions, gulags, repression and Tienanmen Square are now official not as bad as Arizona!
You’re Bad, but we’re bad too, Kumbuya!  can’t we all just get along.
<<>>
<<>>
<<>>

MICHAEL POSNER, ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF STATE: We brought it up early and often. It was mentioned in the first session and as a troubling trend in our society and an indication that we have to deal with issues of discrimination, of potential discrimination. And that these are issues very much being debated in our own society.

The Chinese, who incarcerate people for political opinion, who have brutalized the nation of Tibet, who have no protections for freedom of speech, the press or anything else, are being asked to discuss the new Arizona law? Is this “The Twilight Zone”? Why would the Obama administration even bring it up?
Once again, this Chinese thing is stunning. If you sneak into China, you’ll wind up in a concentration camp or with a bullet in your head, and the Obama administration is discussing Arizona with these people? Totally beyond the pale.
“Talking Points” will remind you that more than 60 percent of Americans support the Arizona law, fully realizing that the federal government will not secure the border and the state had to do something.
Later this week, President Obama will meet with the Mexican president, and the Arizona law is sure to come up there as well. We will watch that very closely. (Bill O’Reilly)

And he will no doubt apologize again.
<>

After all, Mexico and Latin American are quite literally throwing these people at us, but we are going to apologize to THEM for some of US  getting upset over the murders, the shoot-outs, the drugs, violence and civil unrest.
Damn, there must be something in that Harvard Law School water…
But don’t worry, dear seekers of truth, you won’t find it anywhere on The Ministry of Truth.
They are crusaders for justice, fairness, and the Liberal Socialist Way!
And Arizona is definitely on a moral relative par with China. :(

Arizona Strikes Back

Before beginning, here’s the warm-up act, our own “Sanctuary City” Phil, Phil Gordon, the Mayor of Phoenix:
Mayor Phil Gordon was interviewed by “ThinkProgress.org.”  Gordon says “The last thing we want in this country is an individual like J.D. Hayworth in the Congress who is full of racism, will talk forever, and use every means to push his hate.” (KFYI)
But this diatribe is not full of hate, no….not at all… :)

The Pre-Show:
SAY NO TO SAN DIEGO
Arizona tourists are biting back against San Diego for its city council’s decision to boycott the Grand Canyon State over its immigration law signed by Gov. Jan Brewer last month.
Arizona tourists are biting back against San Diego for its city council’s decision to boycott the Grand Canyon State over its immigration law signed by Gov. Jan Brewer last month.
Would-be tourists have notified the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau and some hotels that they are canceling their scheduled travel to the coastal vacation destination, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
According to the newspaper, the convention bureau has received about 25-30 emails from Arizona residents, with some saying they are canceling their reservations and taking their money elsewhere.
That has tourism officials urging Arizonans to consider the resolutions as merely symbolic and local politics at work.

Poor babies…. :(

“We’re in a very tough environment already because of everything else going on, and we don’t need another negative impact to our industry,” ConVis President Joe Terzi told the Union-Tribune. “This affects all the hardworking men and women who count on tourism for their livelihoods, so we’re saying, don’t do something that hurts their livelihoods.”

“I’ve been approached by a number of hotels who are very concerned because they’ve received cancelations from Arizona guests,” Namara Mercer, executive director of the county Hotel-Motel Association, told the newspaper.
Roughly 2 million Arizonans visit San Diego each year but the recession has taken a toll on the hotel industry that was hoping for a comeback this year. Hotels are offering deep discounts to fill up their undersold rooms while the tourism board spends $7 million this spring and summer season to promote travel to the area.
San Diego Councilwoman Donna Frye said she believes some Arizona residents are acting out of a misunderstanding.
“The City Council did not pass a resolution boycotting Arizona, and I would hope that the good citizens of Arizona understand that and will continue to visit San Diego,” Frye said.
School board President Shelia Jackson said that while she was disappointed to hear of people opting to stay away from San Diego, she doesn’t regret her vote.
“It’s sad that people would cancel their plans to come here in reaction to that, but I still think we did the right thing,” Jackson said. “Certainly, we know how important tourism is to San Diego, and it wasn’t my intent to impact the tourism trade.”
The message: Don’t do as I do.
We pass sanctimonious proclamations intent on hurting Arizona tourism but don’t you dare turn around and hit us back!
That’s not fair!
San Diego to Arizona: “Look, just because we called you racist bigots…doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t visit:” :)
BOYCOTT THE BOYCOTTERS!
Tit for tat!
What’s good for the Goose is good for the gander!
Then we’ll see how sanctimonious they are!

And then there’s this ditty I found in a Seattle paper:
The Federal Way School District will not follow a new state requirement for collecting data on students’ ethnic backgrounds.
Starting this fall, parents of Federal Way students will have 57 race and/or ethnicities to choose from when filling out their enrollment and registration card.
However, for students who do not fill out the card, the school district has been ordered to do so on behalf of those students — and guess their ethnicity.
“Perhaps you or someone else at OSPI or (U.S. Department of Education) could help me understand how I train my staff to visually recognize the differences between a Hmong or Vietnamese, or between a Fijian and a Samoan, or between a Lummi and Makah,” Murphy wrote in a letter. “In the era when all school districts are struggling mightily to make our organizations open and welcoming to the vast variety of immigrants entering each year, we are now required to simply guess at who they are, what they are, from whence they came. There may be no more insulting an act that we could perform for incoming families.”

Some of the changes have come from the federal government, while others have been brought about by the state’s Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).
Except maybe are you an Illegal alien? :)
But don’t lose sight of the fact that the Federal & State governments are asking.
But Arizona is racist for asking after a legal stop if you have any identification?
And finally:
So if a cop stops you for violating the law? say speeding.
And when he comes up to your car and ask for your ID and Insurance that they are racist, nazi pigs.
But a Census work worker comes to your house because you did answer the census and asks you all kinds of personal question, like what race you are.
They aren’t racists only because they won’t be calling ICE if they come across a Drop House.
Huh? :(

Now on to the main show.
Sarah Palin, the lighting rod of hate for the Left was just here and she this to say…
As calls spread for an economic boycott of Arizona, the state’s governor enlisted the help of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on Saturday to defend a new law cracking down on illegal immigration.
Jan Brewer and Palin blamed President Barack Obama for the state law, saying the measure is Arizona’s attempt to enforce immigration laws because the federal government won’t do it.
“It’s time for Americans across this great country to stand up and say, ‘We’re all Arizonans now,’” Palin said. “And in clear unison we say, ‘Mr. President: Do your job. Secure our border.‘”
The former Alaska governor appeared with Brewer at a brief news conference on Saturday. The event launched a website that Brewer said was an effort to educate America about border security and discourage an economic boycott of the state.
The site, funded by Brewer’s re-election campaign, shows pictures of Brewer and Palin and invites visitors to sign a petition opposing boycotts. It includes a list of politicians and organizations calling for the boycotts and asks visitors to call or e-mail to “let them know that you support Arizona.”

“Our purpose today is to help the rest of the nation understand the crisis which confronts our state,” Brewer said, citing the presence of human and drug smugglers.
The immigration law takes effect July 29 unless blocked by pending court challenges. It requires police enforcing another law to ask a person about his or her immigration status if there’s “reasonable suspicion” that the person is in the country illegally. Being in the country illegally would become a state crime.
“I think for most American people the reaction to this would be, ‘Why haven’t the police already been doing that?’” Palin said.
Obama and some city, state and foreign governments have condemned the law, which critics say will lead to racial profiling of Hispanics. Brewer on Saturday reiterated her assertion that profiling is illegal and will not be tolerated.
“The president apparently considers it a wonderful opportunity to divide people along racial lines for his personal political convenience,” Brewer said.

Arizona Democratic Party spokeswoman Jennifer Johnson said Brewer’s the one who has divided people, which she’s done by signing controversial bills, and “puts her political survival first every single day.”
“Every word she said today was crafted with her Republican primary in mind,” Johnson said. “Arizona is just an afterthought.”
And Democrats never ever do that. Like Obama pandering to Hispanics. No, they are as pure as the driven snow.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has had enough with the left-wing attacks on her state after its legislature passed a now controversial law to curb illegal immigration. She was especially irritated by a joke President Obama made about this law at the recent White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Back then Obama said, once again proving he has sense of humor: “We all know what happens in Arizona when you don’t have ID — adios, amigos.”
“It’s fair to ask whether he intends to be the Commander-in-Chief or the Comic-in-Chief,” Brewer shot back yesterday when announcing the launch of a website aimed at educating the United States about her state’s new law. “Since the president’s joke was so inappropriate, I suppose, if I wanted to join in the comedian game, I could suggest that he should not give up his day job.”
Although the above made perfectly clear what she thinks of Obama, Brewer wasn’t quite done yet. “Unfortunately, though, he isn’t doing very well at that one, either,” she added as a punchline.
The president, Gov. Brewer said, apparently sees this all as “a wonderful opportunity to divide people along racial lines for his personal political gain.” It goes without saying that she – rightly – considers this a terrible tactic. “This isn’t an immigration crisis but a border security crisis,” she said to loud applause from those present. Although she’s certainly right that the Obama’s use of the race card is contemptible, I wonder what else she expected from a disciple of the infamous Saul Alinsky. Obama’s simply doing what his teacher taught him. He’s using Alinsky’s rules for radicals against his opponents, including the governor of Arizona. Is it despicable? Sure. Is it surprising though? Certainly not.(David Horowitz)

Alinsky “Rules for Radicals”:
Rule 3: Whenever possible, go outside the experience of an opponent. Here you want to cause confusion, fear, and retreat.
Rule 4: Make opponents live up to their own book of rules. “You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity.”
Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.
Rule 6: A good tactic is one your people enjoy. “If your people aren’t having a ball doing it, there is something very wrong with the tactic.”

And Boy do the Democrats just love to call everyone who disagrees with them a Racist. They really do.
